I would like to make hangable (on the wall) sculpture with the detergent caps. I would place them 4 by 4 in plastic box in a square form, which will hold them together. And have each of the caps will have a small sculpture of water creatures. Also each caps will be filled up with transparent glue or anything that could hold drawings stable.
Okay i found it but it should be the first post we see. Stop by the studio today so we can try to fix this.
ReplyDeleteA cool idea and i like how its such a different way to make fish than the when the artist came. I think it would be intersting to find a way to make them almost look wet, i thought that was where you were going first with the glue, and I really like the idea of them hanging. Maybe a backround?
ReplyDeleteI'm slightly confused by your idea, but it sounds cool whatever it is! Is the bottle cap supposed to look like a chair or something with sea creatures on it? and is the box containging the pieces hanging as well?
ReplyDeleteSounds really cool. Would you be hanging it on a wall? Also how many detergent caps would you use? Your fish drawings are really pretty, by the way!
ReplyDeleteI love your idea - I agree with Lindsey, using the detergent caps to create fish but in a different way than the visiting artist did is really interesting! Exactly how you want to hang them all together I think I would like more information about though. I like the glue idea, and like Lindsey said, the idea of making them in water is cool. What medium would you draw the fish with? How colorful would they be? Trying to make a color scheme with the fish and caps, maybe something with cool colors would be cool. I think all the bright caps and the fish will look very tropical!! :) ><>
ReplyDeleteWhen you say "furniture" what do you mean exactly? I think you might consider sculpting little figurines to put in the caps. I am curious about how you will hold all the caps together. I am a bit confused by some aspects of your proposal. A clearer plan or drawing would be good.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really neat! When you say "plastic box" do you mean like a fish tank? Or will each individual cap be like a miniature fish tank? Your proposal is a little bit vague. Also, your drawing depicts a 5x5 box, but you say that you want to use 4x4, so will you need 16 or 25 caps? I am excited to see how this develops!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a cool idea, but I am kind of confused as to what your vision for this is. Are you hoping to place the individual caps into a frame-like piece which can hang? I think the idea you have is really interesting in that I totally see little fishbowls in them, but I can't exactly picture how you would make each fish and place it in glue or gel or whatever... Either way, I like this idea, and I think you could make the little caps and fish and go from there in terms of your final arrangement if you need time to think and visualize...
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of having the fish suspended in a water-like substance! Maybe in some of them you could make little fish sculptures using the plastic bottles and suspend them inside the caps as well. Is it going to be something that hangs on the wall or something that's more sculptural?
ReplyDeletesorry for the confusions, it is going to be 16 caps, 4 by 4 made into a square shape like a drawing. all the caps will be in plastic box that can hold all the 16 caps and just as high as them just to hold the caps together. Each drawing will be in the cap, i think definitely some fishes will be there, and some others like seahorse or corals
